As a molecular biologist, I\u2019m most excited by how fundamental biological principles can be translated into ingredients that improve food systems\u2014using nature-inspired processes to create functional, clean-label solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every day, I feel like I\u2019m contributing to a bigger mission: enabling better food choices without asking consumers to compromise on taste, texture, or quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My PhD journey taught me to think deeply, critically, and systematically about complex biological systems. Academia gave me a strong foundation in experimental design, data interpretation, and scientific rigor\u2014but perhaps most importantly, it taught me patience and resilience when things don\u2019t work the first (or tenth) time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The link between my academic work and my role at Revyve is the same: understanding biological systems and finding ways to guide them toward practical outcomes. During my PhD, I worked on plant stem cell regeneration and discovered that regeneration could be induced by activating specific genes\u2014even without phytohormones. This has important implications for agriculture, where many plants cannot be propagated using conventional methods. Bridging curiosity-driven research with real-world application is what I enjoy most about my work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Revyve, I\u2019ve also learned the value of interdisciplinary collaboration. Innovation here is shaped by scientists, engineers, commercial teams, and customers working together.
